Fierce Fabulous and on Fire

I think there is something to be said about a burning desire. It’s the fire that burns in your soul to get something done or to see something to fruition. It’s the burning that keeps you up at night. It could be a dream or a simple goal, but you know it has to be done.
So where do these burning desires come from? For some of us, fighting them off is just easier than working hard to make them happen. For others, we can’t stop fighting to make them happen. Wherever you fall, understanding the importance of your desires in life is symbolic to your peace of mind. These burning desires fuel our inner peace. For me, once I feel accomplishment in my fires, I’m ready to take on the next one. Accomplishing a fire doesn’t always mean I’m putting it out. It could mean that I just have that fire contained. You see the desire is my light. It’s that thing that keeps me on fire, so I wouldn’t want to put it out.
Reflection: Think about a time you put a damper on someone else’s dreams or ideas. How did they react? Were they deflated or defeated?
Here are some tips on how to fuel your fires and desires:
  • Take a moment to breathe and process just exactly what you want to do.
  • Write them down. If you can’t sleep, you need to do a mind dump. Bring all of your thoughts to a page.
  • Understand your position in your desire. What is your role?
  • Establish your network. Who will you need to partner with to help you make your dream a reality?
  • Determine how you keep your desires relevant and at the forefront for your life.
We can sometimes lose ourselves in others needs and aspirations for our lives. Understand that you come first. That is the key to fueling your fire. Know that the desires of your heart are what makes you you. So be present in your thoughts.
