Provision-a-who?

You were born to stand out. Stop trying to fit in!!

You’ve found me! Let’s celebrate! Welcome to my personal party. You have received the invite. Now let the festivities begin. Those of you that know me, know that I dance to the beat of my own drum. I do what I want, when I want, and I’m not afraid of it. If I dream it, then I can imagine it. If I imagined it, then it becomes a goal of mine. Once it’s a goal, it’s only a matter of time before the magic happens. When my mom said, “you can do anything, if you put your mind to it,” I took that literally. I really try to make my dreams come true. If I don’t believe in me, then no one else will.

So then begins my journey. In a nutshell, I love the Lord, my family, my career, and myself. Yes I said it, I love myself. Hell, I’m selfish. Can you blame me? Again, if I don’t love me, no one else can. And yes I am an only child by both my mother and my father. I do have step siblings, but I’m still a selfish little brat. Now some of you will think this is negative. Others will think it’s pretty harsh. But here is the deal… sometimes, you just gotta own it!!!

So what is a Provisionist? Yes, it is a made up word. I’m sure you have heard of a provision? A provision is the act of providing or supplying something for use. I personally feel like I can provide you with a few tools and tricks I’ve learned along the way. So since I’m supplying you with my insights, I’ll call myself your Provisionist. A fierce fabulous one of course. I love all things fierce, fab, and glam. The more sparkle the better. Throw in leopard print, and we have a winner! I guess you can say I am a bit of a well put together hot mess.

I have a bachelors of science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Northwestern State University. My concentration is in fashion merchandising, and I have a minor in housing and interiors. I also have my MBA from Southern University and A&M College. My specialization was Human Resources. I am currently working on my Doctorate degree in business administration with an HR specialization. I just really like educating myself. And education is the one thing that no one can take from you. So I might as well keep going.

Professionally, I have over 13+ years in Human Resources Management, and managing customer centric environments. I currently work for a large chemical company in Louisiana, where I am in a client facing HR manager role.

Jerry, the love of my life, and I raise our three year old daughter Jolie to express herself as she should. There are however ramifications to her actions, but we want her to love herself first, and respect all people. We try to teach her the value of a good education, and how important giving back to our community is. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and the Junior League of Baton Rouge. I also sit on the board of my local YMCA. Although I have a lot going on, I really try to live my life right and stand by these 5 things:

Praise God, love people, have candid conversations, all while dressing your best and owning it . Now if you’ve read through all of that, you’ve made the decision to party with me. Now let’s hope I can keep the party going for a lifetime.
